Garden Design

Garden Design Process

Key elements of the process we use to create your garden are shown below

Meet the designer

  • Meet with you and present garden design portfolio
  • Understand your dreams and your budget
  • Explain our different options - for example, you may want one or simply a new planting scheme
  • Explain how we will work with you and what you can expect of us - for example, our terms and conditions of service

Client brief

  • Take your ideas and specific requirements and prepare a written brief to check we have understood your needs and give you an opportunity to add further thoughts
  • Source magazine articles and other visuals of people and work that inspire you
  • Check these with you as we develop the design for your garden

Site survey and analysis

  • Preparation of a scaled 'baseplan' of your outdoor space - a full survey is undertaken prior to design work
  • Photographic record of site
  • Examine the detailed characteristics of your garden
  • Understand your garden in more depth by looking at different views, identifying eyesores, soil type(s) and particular aspects

Masterplan

  • Share with you an outline design that meets the agreed brief
  • Amend to ensure the garden is how you want it
  • Print design and prepare accompanying drawings, as required

Planting design

  • Discuss different planting styles to get the effects you want
  • Prepare planting design plan options
  • Discuss with you further options available to support your planting design - for example:
  • - prepare planting specification and schedule
  • - source plants and implement planting plan

Project management

  • Manage the implementation of design and planting scheme from concept to completion

Aftercare

  • Provide you with a 'Your Garden Guide' that covers the detail of how to nurture your garden.
  • Maintenance of your new garden.
