My love of gardens and gardening began as a hobby and has become my profession. During my 20 years of practical garden design and management of gardens, I have been inspired in many ways by gardens I have seen, plants I have encountered and people that I have met around the world.
My passion led me to the RHS, National Certificate and Diploma in Horticulture and onto my degree in Garden Art and Design. I continue to develop my own knowledge and to share my experience as I design gardens for people, and have taught horticulture at Leeds City College for the last 5 years, exhibit at flower shows, judge the local garden competition as well as giving talks to local groups, such as the Paxton Horticultural Society, Adel & District Horticultural Society, Calverley Men's Forum, all of whom share my passion for plants and the space they inhabit. My new venture for September 2011 is undertaking a Diploma in Floristry, thus diversifying and bringing additional skills to my clients. This summer I have achieved a Distinction for my Floristry training and can now offer additional floristry services for my clients.
To the portfolio of gardens that I have designed and created for people in meeting their dreams I also bring extensive experience as a project manager in different settings. As well as this I have a range of other professionals on whom I can call to meet specific needs for each individual garden.
Listening to what you want your garden to be is key for me. I want you to realise your dreams and have a garden that you can enjoy all year round. I see my role as adding the knowledge and experience that I have gained to ensure it is possible.
